Olkalou Constituency
Cherangany Constituency is the second largest constituency in Trans Nzoia County after Endebess covering a total surface area of 629km2. It is also the second most populous Constituency after Kiminini with a population size of 229,538(KPHC, 2019) disaggregated as 113,498 male, 116,029 female and11 intersex. The population density therefore stands at 365 people per square kilometer. The existing data shows that majority of the population is composed of 0-14 age group many of which are in primary school.
The Constituency is divided into 7 electoral wards namely: Motosiet, Sitatunga, Kaplamai, Makutano, Sinyereri, Cherengany/Suwerwa and Chepsiro Administratively, the Constituency is divided into 2 Divisions: Kaplamai and Cherangany; 10 Locations and 18 Sub-locations.
The most important topographic features in the constituency are the Cherangany hills which rises to an altitude of 3371 Meters above sea level.
